Oh, my first review, how exciting!
Imagine if you could touch anything, anyone that was dead, and it would come back to life.
Weird huh? Well it makes for a darn good tv show.
Pushing Daisies follows the story of Ned, a pie-maker with a crazy-ass gift. That’s right, you guessed it, maybe because I already told you, but he can bring anything back to life with one touch.
But there is, as per usual, a catch. Things that are brought back to life are only allowed to live for 60 seconds, or else something (or someone) else will die in it’s place, and the first touch is alive, second touch is dead again, forever.
So what does a hardcore-life-giving-sort-of-cute-pie-maker do? He teams up with detective, Emerson Cod, and starts solving murders by bringing victims back to life and asking them what happened, before killing them again.
If THAT isn’t weird enough (believe me, it’s not yet) while trying to solve a murder he comes across his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, who’s managed to get herself killed. One touch, 60 seconds, and a new dead body later, and despite their obvious attraction, Ned and Chuck are forbidden to touch ever again…
The rest of the series follows Ned, Chuck, Emerson Cod and co. as they solve bizarre, mysterious, and strange murders, all why trying to deal with each other and their relationships.
Interested yet? If you’re not, clearly you’ve got to see it yourself to see exactly what a gorgeous, kooky, and just plain exciting series this is. A touch of drama, a touch of comedy and a bucket of freaking awesome. Filled with strange and lovable characters, interesting story-lines and mysterious scenarios, Pushing Daisies kicks ass. A lot.
